  • can i play bf2 normal 4:3 on 22" wide screen LCD?

    Happy Holidays everyone.

i did read the sticky widescreeen thread before posting. If i buy a 22" WS LCD(something like samsung 226BW), can i play it with normal 4:3 ratio? i don't mind both sides will be cutting off a little bit.

    BTW, my 2+ y/o system are: amd 3500+; 2x1GB ram; BFG 7800GT...etc.
if i play BF2 with reduced resolution to 1280x1024(my system can support without lagging) on 22" LCD, does it still look good(or better than my samsung 19" LCD)?

Why would you want to do that when you can run it in widescreen. I run 1680x1050 on a 20" with lower specs then yours & get no lag after I jumped from a 15" @ 1024x768. Maybe lost about 3-5 FPS !!!!! Go for widescreen dude !!

        Widescreen Question?

I finally got this to run in full screen.Just want to know if I have this right, reason i'm asking is because i have no black bars at top, bottom and sides without using the 1.40 fixer. That people talk about.

-Using nividia scale keep aspect ratio.
        -1680x1050 res
        - video con file is 800x600@60hz
        -settings in game are 800x600@60hz

Just wonderd why no black bars?
The Hud is suppose to be a little oval in widescreen.

Does this look like kept aspect ratio or just stretched?

        Need Opinions

        Thanks

          its just stretched.

the aspect ratio is still 4:3

if you look at the hud you will notice its not a perfect circle

aye thats what widescreen in BF2 looks like, as the game doesnt support widescreen this is all your going to get a stretched image, i found it slightly easier to see things.
