Top Things For A New Person to Know

This game came with my 8800GT and looks fun.

What are some thing i should know before playing, or noobish mistakes i can avoid?

EDIT: what is the latest patch?

Well I pretty much suck at it, lol. Although it is still fun.

best thing to do is keep busy
and watch some game playbacks from other team (even AI) point of view
and be sure to build counter units
(eg - if enemy has snipers - you need jeeps/cycles)

Also what you need to know about this game is that its not built for making a massive Command & Conquer style army and then rush it towards the enemy base hoping his army is gonna be smaller. The game is designed so that it will be a continuous battle using scarce resources, most likely you'll be fighting with one tank and 2 infantry squads against a equal force in one place, while you'll have perhaps 2 other infantry squads and a light vehicle stuck in another battle. You're always at the brink of running out of resources and you never have the time to build up a big attacking force. Thats why the only way to win is by using strategy.

Unless of course if you play one of the bottle neck maps with bridges across the middle. These maps lets you lock the bridges down and build up your force before doing a C&C and rushing across to the enemy base. But thats really not how the game should be played.

i don't like the other RTS because of constant spamming of units, annoying. this game is so much complex and everyone has a different play style

i.e one may lay barb wire to spell out FU at their base

                  :)

                      indeed :)

barbed wire now barely works properly now

when you try to barb off a whole section using markers, the wire always skips one marker (usually at the end)

                          example:

you want to block the road like this

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

but i ends up like this

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
,,,,,,x x x x x x x x
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

so you have to go over the lost section again which puts more effort in barbed wiring

its changed man, it used to be cool

but the new patch mentioned a fix in barb wire. i am yet to try this out
