    Stopping Power Question

Ok, so I've been thinking about this for awhile, and i figured its best to ask you guys. I was wondering, i seem to use stopping power on most, if not all of my kits.

So much so that its starting to feel like a crutch, as in i feel the need to have it standard on every kit.

Does anyone know how much damage Stopping Power does in comparison to a kit not using it? I'd like to try other perks but have a real hard time not choosing Stopping Power.

    Thoughts appreciated :salute:

I use DT on my P90 kit, stopping power on all others.

For an example of how much damage the M16 does with stopping power compared to without it, a three-shot burst on regular with stopping power will insta-kill someone. Without stopping power it will not, I'm sure I don't have to explain how useful this can be.

If you want an alternative to Stopping Power, try other Perks.

For example, the AK-47 can already deal plenty of damage, so with Sleight of Hand, you're capable of firing more often without having to be too concerned about reloading. Or try it with Double Tap if you're the accurate type for a much quicker kill.

All in all it really depends on your play style. Simply try out the other perks now and then and see how they do for you.

Heres an accurate answer for you.

Stopping power makes it so you require one less hit to kill someone.

If an M4A1 does 30 hitpoints of damage at close range, it would normally require you to kill someone with 4 hits (120 hitpoints). However, with Stopping Power enabled, you only need to hit them 3 times. This is how it works on all weapons.

          Without stopping power: X shots
          With stopping power: X-1 shots

In factual terms, each round is given a 40% extra in power. 30 hit points damage turns into ~40, which enables it to reach 100 hitpoints damage in 3 shots, rather than 4.

I hope it made it more clear. Juggernaut works in the exact same way.

Thats perfectly clear thanks, appreciate the responses.

Might have to give DT a go on some weapons.

Yeah, it really depends on the weapon and your play style. I tend to take perks that help boost a weapon's deficiencies, but you can also go with playing to your weapon's strenghs.

In your case, I'd try Double Tap. If you're a sray'er, you'll want Bandoleer since you'll go through that ammo fast. I find Sleight of Hand very situational. For the couple times I've been caught reloading, the guy is either close enough to knife, or I whip out my pistol and down him.

I have also been using UAV Jammer and Dead Silence a lot more myself. It's SO much easier to kill an opponent that doesn't know you're there. And a lot of players go into "auto-pilot" when UAV goes up. If they don't see that red dot on the map, they get lazy and leave themselves exposed.

Yeah, i also use Stopping Power on almost every kit i have.

I even have SP on my P90, because the thing shoots so fast without DT. I don't really understand the people that use DT on their P90...

                  But i have a question:

I've been using my Barrett .50cal a lot lately and my trusty Barrett has killed some few guys lately. But i have Stopping Power on it and i know that the Barrett has really enough damamge already, but is it useful on the Barrett? Or is UAV Jammer even more useful on it?

I dont think you need it, its mucho powerful as it is, and it almost always one-hits people.

But with the M40 and the R700 is the spot where the biggest difference is with SP, goes from a usually two hit kill, to a one hit kill all the time.

Juggernaut only increases health by 25%. Stopping Power does 40% more damage, unless you are shooting someone that has Juggernaut. Then it is hardcoded to cancel out.

I never use SP on ANY sniper rifles. Because I always headshot.

Also, I haven't used the snipers anymore since the patch that made em..."Perfect".

Because it used to be an 'art' to kill with it. Now it's just like killing with an AK or M4.

I'm not saying it's bad, some people just like it better then others.

BTW at Cantina_Fly. SO SO SO SO TRUE, I love when people go into "Autopilot". But I seem to depend badly on SP because it's so crucial that every hit counts in CQB and that every hit does the most pissible damage. I've gotten so handicapped now that I whore the SP.

Are we on our way to another flame war here?

Can't we all just post our opinions and share facts without attacking the other folks? It's not difficult unless you've got an ego problem.

Take it from an old man, humility will get you much further in this world.

Well put, but I also like what Al Capone said. He said," You can get a lot more with a kind word and a gun, than just a kind word."

But then again, he played his games in Old Style HardCore Mode.........................

This is the weapon chart from Chris's other thread (from the CAL forum's originally.)

If you look at the sniper rifles, they all have 70 base damage. The Dragonov, R700 and Barret all have a 1.5 modifier for the Head, Neck, and Chest. That's a pretty large area of the target, so SP would be overkill in most cases. The one area it IS nice, if you are sniping someone with Juggernaut since they cancel. My biggest pet peeve sniping used to be lining up that perfect shot, only to see that little + show up. I took SP for a while to counter, but stopped because I was getting much better mileage from UAV Jammer or Overkill.
