BF2 Won't Update!!! (Fresh Install)

[Nasty]

I just installed BF2 on my newly formatted computer running XP.

So I installed BF2
I downloaded the full 1.4.1 patch (or whatever), like 500MB+++
I ran the patch, it installed successfully.
I logged into BFHQ, and the version is 1.1.2695 still. WTH???


How do I get this thing to update????

Thinking there was a bug in the install, I uninstalled completely, and re-installed BF2 - same problem.

Version number after patching with 1.41,

1.1.2965.797.0

if you have that then you are patched.

oh, then that's weird because I am unable to get into any servers... Most (except for like 30) appear RED. I'll try again.
