Is there a console command or setting to reduce or get rid of the flash when you are firing a gun?

You know, that'd be kind of an unfair advantage...but then again, if it was available, then wouldn't everyone use it?

Its not too hard to get used to it anyway, or turn off some of your settings like glow, which slightly intensify the effect.
