Everything works fine until I get to the point where I select a weapon and spawn point. As of yesterday the PC freezes up as soon as the map loads. Others are complaining about the same thing on a variety of message boards however, nobody has answered them. I'm running a problem-free XP while most of the other guys experiencing this issue are using Vista. Tried to fix it by looking for patches or PB updates but the problem remains. Is this a new wrinkle with EA that only their techs can fix? Is it time to get the Call? Thanks for any input.

I had this problem to after updating my punkbuster, go to your controls and change everything back to defaults, that fixed my problemComment

Sound, mouse, everything freezes. Have to exit outta the game using Cntl/Alt/Delete. The problem was not precipitated by any PB updates. In fact, the game had been running well for the past three months w/o any real problems except the occasional PunkBuster boot for Losing Packets.Comment

I would recomend you to buy 2 gigs of RAM. I've had some minor lagg and freeze issues when i had 1 gig of RAM, but after getting 2 i dont have any lagg at all. RAM is dirt cheap now anyways.....Comment

Given that I'm seeing others suddenly experiencing the same identical problem, it seems unlikely that this rather unique glitch would be caused by a shartage of memory. Others with newer systems specifically designed for gaming are experiencing this too. Could there be another reason for it? Anyone else experiencing this problem?Comment

The whole PB thing has been a joyless ordeal. There are days I cannot get past the LOSING KEY PACKETS bump and I usually hafta reboot to get BF2 access. Now this new problem effects single & multiplayer options. Could that be PB too? I thought PB didn't impact single player play.Comment

I'm getting the same problem at the kit/spawn menu.
I log in, pick a map, then when it loads and I join, I can't pick a kit or a spawn point.
The map and my cursor get frozen. The cursor just stays in one spot and it won't move. Though I can still see players moving behind the map and I can hear sound, I just can't spawn or select my kit.
I tried looking for some answers, but still none. I've been playing for about two years without this problem, but it all of a sudden popped up. I tried reinstalling, hoping that would fix it but no, I still got the problem.Comment

Nobody seems to be able to ID this glitch but clearly it's becoming increasingly common. EA doesn't seem too customer service oriented. My friends are all switching to CoD. I guess I'm gonna hafta join em and uninstall BF2. Damn frustrating...I was gonna make rank.Comment
