problems with VOIP help please

my mates headset/mic and computer dont seem to be hearing people use
VOIP over bf2
i can hear him but he cant hear me or anyone else in the squad
is there any reasons why this is ?
and anyway to fix this?

Can his headset hear other sounds out of BF2 eg music?

If so, have you tried fiddling with the settings in the audio section of the options?

first, check to see if your mic is plugged in and/or turned on.
second, go to the control panel and make sure you mic software is installed and your mic is enabled in the sound options menu
third, make sure your mic volume is audible in the bf2 menu and in your control panel.
