Server Pings?

Hey guys,
I just installed the 1.4 patch and booted the game up.
I have the usual running: Xfire, AIM, and nada else.

I had high ping for a while and now it is back to normal.

Not quite that high though. Xfire is a lagger, but if youve always used it, it may not be that.

i'm in the same bus. my pings are all pretty high now. on average my lowest is around 150 :S

Rebooted, and as expected, nothing changed... *cries

you can CTRL ALT DEL and see what processes are being used up. Maybe something is updating in the background.

Nope, nada. All my other games run fine, it must be CoD4.

I just checked, and am seeing the usual range of servers...from a low ping of 24 to a high of (wow) 5000.

Might wanna reboot your PC and/or router as well. Sometimes that helps.

Mine was fine also until the new patch. I'm in the same boat as you.

Tried both Whiskey, no joy.

*Also, it loads about 2500+ of the servers before displaying any.

*Alright, one of the servers is down the 65... the rest are still WAY up.

yer im geting the same problem.. the lowest ping i seem to get is in the
400's right up to the 2000's ive tried everything but it jut stays the same... only started happening after the 1.4 patch.. and all my other games are fine.

Time to write down some IP's and run some traceroutes. Perhaps there is some major packet loss at a hop between you and most of the world.

Well that'd be my next step, but I suppose if your internet is totally fine then this probably isn't the cause. Still it doesn't hurt to try.

I updated to the 1.4 patch and saw a huge jump in ping, but recognised a server that usually had a low ping, I connected and in game it was back down to 60, so I dont know
