What is the point of that post?

Without the ability to upgrade and to mod games, a PC would still be able to do a lot more then a 360.

touche...lol. But, lets remember the 360 was specificly built for games. The PC was first built for work, Then Video games came along. If I think I know the next thing your are going to say, then what I just said should make sence...lol.

Deus Ex is god among games (SP of course), and **** if they gonna dumb it down again like IW did.

            But it`s true.

Yeah, i can't wait for the next Deus Ex.

Like you say, i just hope it's not as bad as Invisible War. The problem occurs when they dumb games down for console gamers.

Two Looking Glass Studios games, i might add. Thief: Deadly Shadows and Deus Ex: Invisible War.

There were rumours of a third System Shock game from EA since they own the license. No doubt if it was true they'd obliterate it like they do every other game franchise.

You say it like the 360 spawned the PC. It's like saying take away our overdeveloped brains and thumbs and we're essentially monkeys.

I don't dislike the 360; in fact i own one. But if i had to choose between having a PC and a 360, it would be an easy decision.

No,no,no. I didn't mean to come off like that. I was saying that the 360 spawned from todays modern gaming PC. So take away the modding and the hardware upgrades and you have yourself a 360.

I think, LeadCannon thinks the PC is so much superior is becuase. The PC can do photoshop, code, and, make movies and all of those nifty things.

I'm the same way, I would pick a PC over a 360 anyday. But, I was just trying to say that the Orange Box for the PC and the Orange Box for the 360 are the Exact same thing.

The other guy was just stating that he had it for the 360. Then here comes LeadCannon "Blah Blah Blah...The PC version is better because it has modding." I don't know if you were being a ***, but thats how you came off.

Back on topic though.... I would recommend "World In Conflict", if you like RTS. Then "BioShock" or "Orange Box" if you like FPS games. Ohh almost forgot... If you like RPG's you can get "The Witcher" it's pretty good.

Technically those things do make it superior.

I'm not so keen on the way "World in Conflict" looks. It's been a while since i purchased an RTS because most of the more recent ones released have been utter ****e. "Supreme Commander" looks more to my taste, if it's anything like "Total Annihilation".

World in Conflict is a good RTS, but not really a "complex" one per se. It has a fairly enjoyable Single Player experience though, Alec Baldwin as a voice actor is simply pure win.
I still rank SC and WC3 as the best RTS games on the market at the moment.

Slawek, you should consider the FEAR threesome.

                      FEAR
FEAR: Extraction Point (EXP pack 1)
FEAR: Perseus Mandate (EXP pack 2)

Best PC Single Player experience in recent years. I personally rank only Half Life franchise as worse.

                      On HL note

                      Half Life Blue Shift
                      Half Life Opposing Force

                      Then theres

                      Metal Gear Solid
                      Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance

These two are legendary titles, made by none else than Kojima himself.

I also advice Rainbow Six Vegas as a Single Player experience. Its one of the best thought out SP FPS games because of its flawlessly executed dynamic storyline, its in continuous motion.

If youre into RTS, or would want to experiment, Id suggest Supreme Commander, a macromanagement focused RTS where hundreds of units fight each other. Really cool tech and the game is far more enjoyable than the C&C series for example.

Of course the forever lasting StarCraft and WarCraft 3 (with their expansion packs), if youre interested in seeing how the best RTS games play out (minimalistic, yet flawless).

Bioshock is already mentioned, even though I didnt find it fascinating myself.

I suggest you try them old PSOne games, thats what I do, when Im bored. Twisted Metal 4 is awesome

I have to disagree with Chris_Redfield's opinion on Warcraft3.

If you want a taste of some good RTS titles, then i'd recommend Total Annihilation, Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, Homeworld 2, Age of Empires, StarCraft, Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2 and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War.

WarCraft 3, like StarCraft is extremely overhyped. It's essentially the RTS equivelant of World of WarCraft.

Thanks for your suggestions on the RTS games. I think I'll tell my brother about them as he loves those types of games, but me on the other hand... I don't like them.

Thanks for the FEAR suggestion also, I'll look into that.

                            Contradiction?

Anyway, 2 things to think about.

                            1. Popularity of Starcraft, both in BattleNet and WCG. Overhyped? No. Were not talking about the CnC series here. There are 400´000 StarCraft players (counted both Vanilla and BW). You could say HALO3 was overhyped by the fall from 250K players to ~30K players in just a few months, but not StarCraft.

                            2. WarCraft3 functions the same way StarCraft does, however, it does so with significant additions and extra. Yes, Blizzard is milking the cow, and its obvious by the 75´000 player count, but in reality, theres nothing wrong with offering something to a player with different taste, especially since WC3 comes with the same great level of execution that StarCraft does.

Anyway, 75´000 players online at pretty much any given time says that its not the "hype" that drives the game.

In defense to your possible argument, that "popularity doesnt mean the game is good". Popularity means precisely that, because if it was just hype, and nothing more, youd see a severe fall in players numbers. RTS market is just as competitive as FPS market, and the fact that a "God knows how old game" is still being played in numbers far succeeding even the most played FPS games, theres something to look into, even if you end up being disappointed. :)

                              How is that a contradiction?

StarCraft is a good game, but it's also extremely overhyped. That's not to say that your point about Command and Conquer is untrue. However the only Command and Conquer game i can think of as being overhyped is Generals; which also happens to be the worst incarnation of the series.

It's also a redundant comment since it's not the C&C series we're talking about.

Warcraft 3 is mediocre at best. One of the biggest reasons it's done so well is that it's overhyped. It's overhyped because it's made by Blizzard, and the fact that it's followed by hordes of overzealous fans who think Blizzard can do no wrong simply because they made StarCraft/WarCraft.

                              It's like World of Warcraft.

WoW is a piss poor game, and there are/were plenty of other MMOs out there created to a higher quality than it, yet it exceeds them in terms of popularity. It's also popular because it has RTS fans of WarCraft/StarCraft on the back of it.

If gamers had realised that it wasn't as good as the hype, it doesnt mean that there would be a decline in it's popularity. Especially if they have friends who also play or they are unaware of any alternatives. WoW was the first MMO experience for a lot of players.

So no, popularity doesnt necessarily mean a game's good. It's an overstatement to compare the RTS market to the FPS market as equal, since the FPS market is much bigger.

I already put StarCraft in the list as "a game worth looking at". StarCraft is given this "legendary" status for god knows what reason, because there were better games out around that time.

It's probably due mostly to people wearing extra thick nostalgia goggles.
