    Air vs Ground

Okay... I wanna know what everyone's opinion is on this topic. What do you think matters the most in a game or makes the most difference when playing a round. I believe that 70% of the time if you have good air you will eventually make up for the bad infantry part.

They are kinda connected. But you cant win a round without capping flags, and air assets cant cap flags

Edit: Woohoops, i was kinda tired while writing that

You need boots on the ground to cap flags and hold territory. Without good air support, those guys on the ground get chewed up, so you kinda need both.

On maps like wake so long as you have competent chopper/jet pilots in the air, the usmc can't even make it to land to cap anything so yes air assets can play a huge role in the tides of battle.

I hate your new avatar  .

Good airsupport is a must if you're on maps like wake and dalian. Without the air support, ground troops can run around for ever trying to cap something without success. But on Dalian, of course, there are flags like Warehouse and Maintenance Buildings which can be capped by infantry only.

            infantry cant cap flags?

a good squad on the ground is all you need, only air vehicle you should be capping flags with is a blackahwk

the other air vehicles are used to provide support for the troops

It definetly depends on the map but i think over all its 60% ground 40% air. you need group to capture flags and you need air to stop the other team from capturing flags, which the land could do just fine but not as efficiently.

I've seen many a team with fantastic pilots lost the round. Good pilots can be complete nightmares for ground forces, but in the end, it's boots on the ground that matter.

Even on Wake you need something more than good J10 pilots to win.

It just depends on the map.

                      Ment air assets..

A jet wont stop a whole squad from caping a flag, and a chopter can only effectively defend one flag at a time. So you can win even without air support

Good air rarely can make up for bad infantry. The exceptions to that are Wake Island and Operation Clean Sweep. With a good commander that spots US air combined with good jet pilots and a chopper crew the US would never even make it to land. The ground pounders are pretty much irrelevant. On Dalian, the carrier is much closer to the land so the US has a better chance of getting a foothold but if they don't do it pretty quickly, they're hosed too. The best way to battle air assets on other maps, like Kubra Dam, Daqing Oilfields, Gulf of Oman, FuShe Pass, is for the infantry to use the small, fast vehicles to quickly cap flags, establish a ticket bleed and then just defend. Stay out of slow moving armor.

air vehicals are only needed to counter/distract other air vehicals. (mostly planes, unless infrantry are trapped in).

Helicopters can easily be killed by cars and tanks if theres only 1.

Infrantry 70-80% Air just needs to prevent air vehicals killing infrantry.

On wake, of course it depends what stage of the map your on, beginning obviously needs a lot more air support.

Yeah I like the Jap Bomber Avatar but I was trying out new Gif's program. This avatar rocks cause everyone wants to be cool with shades all the time!

Anyways I've seen air devistate maps with sucky ground support. Even though your ground support sucks as long as you keep the enemies running scared below no matter how lame your ground team is they will eventually live long enough near a flag to cap it. Most of the time in large maps, it's not how scary the fight at capture point is, it's how scary getting there can be.

actually this one time I totally capped a flag whilst doing a bit of low level strafing in a jet. What happened of course was a squad had all but captured the flag, got artied, and then the millisecond I happened to be in the radius was all it needed to go to my team
