    Vista x64 + X-FI Card Crashing Game

    Hello,

Haven't Played 2142 in a long time, decided today to start playing again, installs fine, updates fine, no problems but it seems that my xfi is causing my system to crash with just this game. So does anyone else have this problem with XFI and 2142, i take out XFI and use onboard game doesnt crash at all, as soon as i put xfi back in and pick xfi options for sound and high quality or ultrahigh or w.e that one is i crash within 30 minutes.

Anyone have a fix for this, using the lastest vista x64 drivers from creative site. seems like the only game that does this to me =[

yes what im using atm, just want to know if anyone who has a xfi and vista64 have the same problem, kinda sucks not being able to use the xfi feature.

also when using hardware i also need to use medium and have eax disabled in order to not crash =[

hmm i fixed it by using the auzentech prelude driver for my xfi xtremegamer, can now use xfi hardware on high with eax as well works perfect , ultrahigh seems to crack once in a while with the highest settings in format for audio.

        no more crashing

you say you are using the xfi drivers, but have you also installed the essential Open AL drivers ?

          or the Alchemy drivers ?
