first try patching again. then, update punkbuster. if that doesn't work, reinstall.

            HI there!!

            Did u fix the problem?

Well i also had this problem, but i managed to fix it.

            U use dual core right?

            Try these steps:

            1. Run bf2

            2. Open taskmanager

            3. Go to processes and find bf2.exe

            4. Right click it.

            5. Find set affinity(maybe. im not 100% sure)

            6. you should have cpu 0 and cpu 1 ticked. Tick one off

            7. Close taskmanager and try running bf2 again.

Well hoped this helped. I'm not sure if u set affinity in the process part.

I think bf2 doesn't work with dual cores, so which makes u to run bf2 on one cpu.

So i kind of lag when i play bf2. I use 1.8ghz dual core.

            Hope this helped!!!

              wanna know why,

its the 8500gt. i have one.

it pulls out a unstable 40 fps on med settings. its very poor card.

and also the 1 gig ram,...

get a 7600gs and 1 more gig off ram.

with vista , i would even bother with the game.

i have 4 gigs off ram,,

so there is no isue with my hardware, its just bf2 and vista, vista sp1 --i hope it will fix playing older games

No problems with Vista, running a 8800 GTX and a Core 2 Duo. Make sure you run it as an Administrator. Right click the shortcut, click Properties and check the box marked "Run as Administrator.

I tried doing that but the 'run as administrator' box is greyed out any ideas?

^^^Yep the 8500 and only 1gig of ram isnt helpin especially if you have vista, go atleast 3 gig of ram & a better card.
but first like others said, make sure your patched with 1.41, defragment, registry scan & fix, update PBuster manually, i'd try game on medium if not low settings till i got some more better hardware.
