    BF2 registration issues

Hi all BF2 gurus :salute: :salute :salute:
OK...I feel stupid asking this because I'm sure it's so simple that a 5 year old could work it out (trouble is there's never one around when you need one).

I bought BF2 Deluxe edition (with SF included) and started playing it online with no problems for over a year now. Recently I got the booster back CD with AF and EF which i though was on the CD...wrong. SO working out that I still needed to download it I went through the procedure of trying to follow the instructions on how to do it using EA downloader manager etc. when I discovered that even though I play it online its not registered in "My Games" in my EA account.

I only play with one name so I know there isn't an issue with that but when I try to register it with my EA account it says "The specified registration code has been used previously".

So the problem is I can play BF2 and SF online no problem, but the Gamespy ID/ EA account thingy doesn't see it as a game I have. That means I can't get to register or even download the software I've paid for and play online. :wall:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

^^yeah dude, you can get the whole enchalatta on one CD now at walmart. "complete colletion" i think is whats called.

dude, not quite sure i understand what your saying, you bought the complete editon? & still had to dowload someting?

In the EA account there is a place for you "game name" it is only name that the 2 boosters will work with.
i dont use gamespy so i dont have a clue about them.
use xfire, or just join from the game. unless ya just a gamespy fan.

      good luck:salute:

        Hi guys,

Blade & JustMe071, agreed the BF2 + SF is what I have and play with. It allows me to join online and play both without problems. What I've been trying to do is get the AF+ EF ( http://www.amazon.com/Battlefield-Bo.../dp/B000J53BZC ) registered first then downloaded so I can play.

So I'm told to go to EA and register it,and when I go there into my account it shows my first EA game that I registered (that adrenalin junkies game of choice :dead: ) Tiger woods 2005. I try to register the original BF2 I've been playing for well over a year; no joy, I'm told "the specified registration code has already been used". Well that seems to be the problem, I still play online with the same exact account name since I only use one online and don't have millions of personas...just one, the one I always use.

Ahhh..., the irony of me buying the CD I thought was to have a physical copy of the games and not need to do the download thing as I always swap out HDD's (for data not OS or Applications ) and didn't want a different hardware config giving me an error :wall: :wall: . Wrong..!! what you get is a piece of paper with the codes on and a CD which contain the PDF manuals for the games and instructions on how to download using EA download manager. Thus we are stuck with the issue that EA doesn't see my original BF2+SF which means downloading can't happen which means that I have no way of downloading AF+EF.

        JustMe0171,
I agree with you, I'd much rather not use any thing to connect to the online just the game (don't believe in cheat codes etc. just walk into those bullets like a man till you work out how not to), but in EA there seems to be a tie up to something on the EA account page when you go to register your game (which it then tells me I can't because "the specified registration code has been used previously"

OK...I think thats what my issue is....(was looking for a smiley taking valiums but couldn't find it).

Not sure what you mean by "cheat codes" i just meant i can use xfire to join a server, or the game iteself, i dont have gamespy even on my pewter.

anyway, i've never fooled with the games like that, i've allways bought the disk from store , this is what i'd do, write EA support, try to be plain & clear that it gives you a error that the code is allready in use. Other than that dude, i dont know what ta tell ya, it did send you a new key code right? cause it takes a different key code for the expansion , than the one u registered vanilla bf2 with.

heres ya the support link to write.
          good luck

            Hi JustMe0171,

The cheat codes I refer to are all the garbage that Gamespy ID tries to shackle you with, though even on the EA game registration page....the one that says my "specified registration code has been used previously" the enter button is a big thing which says "Send me cheat codes/hint" (please refer to attachment).
I've got the EA people looking into it as well but they are somewhat slow in their response so I joined here after reading through as many posts as I could in the forums in reference to online registration etc.
Personally I love BF2, the idea you can get into all the vehicle's and be a thorough and responsible hooligan. Spend more time and become proficient at using them, but what ticks me off is all the hackers and cheaters that just mess it up so there isn't an even playing field. I love sniping and flying...if I knew how to hack mine would be to take my M95 by the barrel and bludgeon to a bloody pulp all those guys that jump down prone while doing a roll and shoot you with one bullet, sometimes they aren't even facing your direction (aim-bots are the bain of my life). I'm not sure if that is a hack or a console thing or what....but its ANNOYING...!!!
And then there are the guys that fly and do pinpoint bombing onto moving targets...I mean how real is that....(breathe...breathe...take a Valium)..ooops sorry for the rant.

Thanks for the help and advice...hope it all gets sorted out, and if EA is listening, don't let BF3 which I hope will come out soon be hackable or allow any form of cheats at all. Most people actually enjoy playing these games and don't need a bunch of morons that need to win at any cost spoil the experience.

I hope u get it worked out, i remember when i registered my booster key, i kept gettin a error "invalid code" or someting likie that, i put it in 5million times, wrote ea, they didnt knkow, well this was when i first bought the game, i was lookin thru my book & it was showing or talking aobut the booster mapps & i thought "didn't i just play on that mapp"? well shat i went & tried it & boom, i was able to join, i guess it was a EA glitch/problem of some kind.
yepp aimbots suck, i play PR, lot less hacking (that i've noticed anyway)
              good luck :)

it is a registration issue on EA's end of things...the Cd you got is fine - I have the same one - EF an AF on one CD
Just email them with your data and they will fix it up
