Exactly my thoughts.Originally posted by SkaggyLogitech Extreme 3D Pro is your best bet.
And you're likely to get a bunch of people in here saying you don't need a joystick, I'd ignore them if I were you. :)Comment

i use the logitech extreme3d pro. its really good, theres a hat switch and 4 buttons up top, a fire trigger, a thumb trigger. and 6 other programmable buttons on the side. and the throttle, of courseComment

Just because you people are more skilled than you does not mean they are noobs, it's rather the contrary.
I am amazed at how the word "noob" is used these days.Comment

I use the Logitech Freedom 2.4 Cordless joystick. Only down fall is it is wireless, but I highly recommend it. The Extreme 3D pro is very good too.Comment

At least for me, I've noticed my flying skills get better as a result of buying a joystick. It feels more natural to fly with a stick than a keyboard and mouse. BTW I use a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, IMO one of the best sticks out there as far as feel and number of programmable buttons.Comment

Well, it seems the Logitech joystick is getting all the praise so I'll stick my oar in and recommend the trusty old M$ Sidewinder. Can't beat the twist stick for even tighter turns!
As for a stick being a waste of money, I'd go and see your paper round union reps if I were you because they are clearly not paying the national rate. £30 is all I paid for my stick. :pComment
