How does enabling WEP or WPA enable a better connection? Surely that just means a safer and more secure connection?

get the client computer/laptop etc closer to the router.

            Use a better wireless router

Try not to go through thick walls

Don't sit the wireless router or the host computer near a electrical source or something else like a lamp etc..

I do not suggest trying to game over a wireless connection period..it just isn't as good as a wired connection.

Using XP or Vista doesn't make a difference...just as long as you follow what I said above.

no it doesn't... the TCP/IP stack in XP is easy to adjust where Vista is auto adjusting thats the only difference..therefore once XP is adjusted slightly mostly in the RWIN then it won't make no difference.

enabling WEP 128bit used to give me a better connection when i played via wireless, it wouldnt drop off after 10mins or so.
