    BF2 Map feedback

Hi ive posted before talking about what you would like to see in a FPS map and have drafted up a 3d model for feedback. It would be great if anyone could post suggestions or any comments they have on the map to help me improve it.This map would be used on BF2 but im doing it for a college course so its not a playable level yet i am going to develop it into a game with Director in shockwave so if anyone wants to try it let me know and ill post a Work in progress of the game within the next 6-10 weeks.

Please bare in mind that these images are drafts of the model and are mostly untextured and basic in detail that will come later i just want to know what you think of the layout.

    Thanks alot

In BF2 maps are not quite just plain models like they are in HL2 etc.

what you have is lots of "static objects", like the mosque, a building, a sign etc you place in the map. these need to all be imported individually into the map onto the terrain. I see basically all your statics are made off inspiration of the vBF2 ones hehe. If you are going to acturly port this map into BF2, then ehh, the best thing to do is use the stock vBF2 buildings, + make lots of custom statics you can import and use on your map :)

Yeah the reason they are plane models is because they dont have any detail on yet its just a draft but the objects are inspired from BF2. I wont actually be importing this into BF2 as i said im using director to allow movement etc because its for a project on my college course im just looking for feedback on the map layout.

      Thanks for your reply

I love the renders, and I was wondering - what program did you use to create those designs?

BF2 is probably the most unforgiving game to create maps for. And it's probably the worst CQC (close quarter combat) FPS game ever, it's just not made for that. I suggest making a map for CS:Source, it's more fun and yields better results in the long run.
Unless you want to make bigger maps, then BF2 is best.

That looks great. Especially the heli in the middle, it fits.

The textures on the buildings look horrible, otherwise I like it as well.

The map looks good, but I think it's a bit too symmetric.
If this would be a BF2 map I doubt I would like it, the fight would be to predictable.
Hey, but if you add a construction site and a TV station you have a nice mixture of all BF2 urban maps.

Respect for the effort to create a map, I don't think I would ever try to make a map for BF2.

                        So, well done!

Seems to have a lot of potential. What about adding more rubble/clutter/cover? There are a lot of open areas without a place to hide.

Bah, it's nothing in particular, they just look too plain and lame.
