IW hasn't given out any information on that so far. It's possible, but no one's talking about it yet.

I'd bet my lunch money on it.

IW has done a great job of taking the model started with BF2/2142 and honing it to a shine. What really sold the expansions for both titles was additional unlocks. The maps in those expansions never got real play time though because you could only play them if you had the expansion, which split the community and most servers favored stock maps as a result. It was made easier by the fact that your expansion unlocks worked on stock maps.

Given the traditions of CoD's past with free maps with patches, I think you'll see maps released for free. That way everyone gets them and they see real play time. They'll charge for additional ranks, perks, challenges, etc... because they know the stat junkies will pay. The new perks and weapons won't be game breaking by any means, just different. So anyone that doesn't want to pony up a little extra $$$ for them isn't penalized on the playing field.

Hit the nail right on the head there...IF new weapons, perks, etc come out, it likely will take quite some time, in order for IW to test and make sure that the game is still balanced.

I really hope not... but if that did happen I would prolly just play on patch 1.3 but I can see IW messing up the game for some reason prolly just cuz it is my favorit game..

I don't know IW, but patches normally don't add new content, they just change/fix existing stuff.

If an expansion pack ever comes out, say a year or so down the road, then it's more likely that extra weapons, perks, challenges, etc., would be in there.

I hope youre right Cantina, that would be a VERY smart move. Free stuff for everyone and some extra bling for those willing to pay (ME!, not because of stats but I like shiney weapons)
