so i recently started a new soldier to deal with tards without ruining my stats and online reputation. it's been 3 days, and somehow playing without having to care about stats is fun - no need to TAB before spawning to see if teams are stacked, etc.
Funnily enough though this new soldier has a marginally higher KDR than my main BG soldier =D it's mostly cos 2142 was my first FPS and my KDR sucked at first (it plunged to the depths of 0.09 back when i was a corporal or smth), but it's pretty amazing to see how much i've improved, even without unlocks.
which brings me to my second point - unlocks. it feels pretty crippled starting from scratch. you run for about 2 meters and have to pant and recover for 5 minutes =\
i've found that engy is a good starting kit cos the SMG is like a mini-voss. krylov is of course good to start with, and support actually sucks when you have nothing. recon is worse, no zoom= pwned by baur.
but most importantly, i rank up pretty fast due to awards. i keep getting badges pretty easily. it's fun to rank up twice times in a game due to badges, my previous BG account still has quite a number of gold badges not gotten yet. mostly because of my sucky skills and laggy comp last year.
anyone had similar experiences starting a new soldier?

My second is working his Fried Cheeseball rank up (top 300 right now, I can go up 20-100 places per day), but I will never get my world ranking back to what it was.
