I bought my game from direct2drive. when i try to install new patch it says in compatible now im assuming its because of d2d but any help would be great thx.

Yep, when an e-distributor like D2D puts out a game, they have to modify the code. When IW puts out a patch for the disc-version of the game, it won't work on the e-version. D2D has to modify that patch to suit their version of the game.
Keep bugging D2D to produce that patch, or do a Google search and see if maybe someone from the community has made one. Annoying, I know. Always buy the disc if you can.
