What is the best map for sniping?

I finally unlocked the stabilizer, but it didn't help much :-). I think I have a whopping 6 kills in total. I tend to miss their heads, they run for cover, I get killed by someone else. Obviously, I need to find a few good hidden areas where I can snipe. All I want to do is get 5 headshots in a round and get the damn pin, because I find it is much more fun to use RDX if you are recon.

Any suggestions for a good map? I thought Cerbere Landing would be a good one because you can climb that super-high tower and snipe from there. But I found that I either have to stand to see over the wall making an easy target of myself, or else I have to prone on the wall itself. Either way, I get a few shots in before someone takes me out. Some guy actually had a very impressive grenade throw from ground level which took me out once. I shot him in the head just after he threw (one of my few head shots), and his grenade sailed up and landed right beside me. BOOM!

    Best map for sniping?

    Thanks,
    DD.

Personally, and I think I could take some flak for this, I think Camp Gibraltar is a great map for sniping. I'm not that great a sniper, so I prefer the shorter distances.

The best place is, of course, the trainyard (in my opinion). There's always tons of targets. However! You need to stay on the ground (if attacking as PAC). Take cover behind the trains and stuff, because as soon as you skyline yourself, you're dead. It's that simple.

Sidi Power Plant is another great map for it. Don't know any servers that run conquest, but there's a few titan ones.

Camp G takes second place for sniping in my book, Port Bavaria takes first

The trick is to stay mobile. Never hold still! Take your shot, and move on. Take another shot, and move on some more :p

I find Bridge at Remagen is a great sniping map (mostly cus I get sniped all the time and never know where it came from )

I also heard Minsk is a good map for sniping but haven't really tried it out. It's more of a vehicle-centric map, but there's nothing like sniping the completely nonchalant engineer who's repairing his tank

seriously, the juxtaposed fog of war screws up everything for snipers. but yeah, camp g because you get a lot of human traffic. its not easy to snipe on camp though, everyone knows where snipers go and you better watch out for rockets, nades and Baur uses.

Camp G is a decent sniping map, but not that good....you get off one shot before getting a barrage of rockets, not fun.

Bavaria is a very good sniping map, best among the NS maps. It is tied with Tunis harbour as my favorite sniping map, so if you have NS, go either, if not, go tunis.

For titan maps, Minsk is actually very good - tall buildings around silo 4, hills everywhere (personal favorite sniping spot is the hill overlooking silo 2 - I have no idea how many kills I've gotten just lying there!) Sidi is decent as well, especially silo 4 and...5? I think? the one on a elevated part compared to the rest of the map.

Suez is another one worth considering, but if PAC is pushing trash dump (on conquest) for the EU or if PAC has already captured trash dump for PAC snipers. Before that its not very good as you need to travel a ways before getting to a sniping spot. After that its just long narrow roadways.

Cerbere landing...not really...the too-high roof means that you either can't see those who are near the building, or that you have to stick yourself over the building to get them (which is never good). They do have a good left hill leading to command center though.

Suez is where I like to snipe I can sit in a few spots most of the game and not even move while still avg 10-15 kills. If your able to reach out and get the kills at distance, I find Tampa enjoyable too. All the other maps you really have to shoot and move IMO.

Your not really helping your team much by being still and getting 10-15 kills, how about capping some silos? That's what reallly helps your team. IMO anyone regularly toting a sniper rifle who is to not a 1 shot kill machine is not a team player.

I really like Tunis Harbour for being a sniper.

If you get up onto the walkway but only onto the strairs you last much longer than if you sit it out right at the top. People look along here but not the stairs. You have a good view of atleast 2 flags and you are just about on eye level with the crane so you should watch out for that place. I got easily 20 kills the last time.

                      Tunis & Port Bavaria ftw

I like Cerbere too as long as the battle stays down at the PAC uncap or the first CP's.

Just curious if you're holding the shift button to use the stabilizer.....

I'm assuming your first unlock is the stabilizer but what's another one you'll bring along? IMO APMs are decent at protecting you but you'll usually get knifed anyway if you don't place them well. The camo is probably not very useful either unless it's a map where you like to continually switch sniper spots. The sniper decoy would be awesomely effective I'd imagine, because the enemy commander won't be able to spot exactly where you are, the UAV would show you in the wrong spot, etc. Just try to get a clear look of where you place it (and place it well, somewhere hidden, like in the bushes or somewhere high up) so you can kill some guy who walks up to it all excited with his knife out only to find some beeping thingamabob.

On Titan mode I'd recommend lacing the silo with RDX and sniping. If a large squad comes to that silo you can kill them all instead of pissing them off by killing one with the rifle.

On conquest mode try to find a good place with a roof so the orb strike doesn't kill you instantly.

Not much of a sniper myself. I think I've got maybe 3 infiltrator pins. The first one I got pretty much by accident on Liberation of Leipzig. I had 20 minutes before I had to leave for work one morning so I figured "what the hell, I'll give Recon some sniper time, mix things up a bit."

I climbed that tri-sided billboard thing in the middle of the map, and before I knew it, I had my first Infiltrator pin.

The other two Infiltrator pins I got on Sidi and Gibralter.

On Sidi, I climbed the crane at Silo 1 and just blew enemies heads off while they tried to cap the silo.

For Gibralter, I started as assault, had one of those rare rounds where I was doing good, killing bad guys, and ran out of ammo with no friendly supports around! I saw a guy sniping from a tower, so I climbed up, knifed him, grabbed his kit and just took my shots from there. Eventually got the infiltrator pin.

Feels good when you get it, but sniping really isn't my bag unless I'm feeling lazy or desperate (like I was in Gibralter).
