  • What is wrong with the UK based clans?

I've discovered that if you ever want to play in a fantastically lopsided battle, simply join any UK-based clan server. You don't even have to join the game, just hit TAB once you are attached to the server. For some reason, the Brits seem to enjoy battles where it is 16 against 5. Autobalance is off, SmartBalance is being used to ensure no clan member ever switches sides, meaning the server will only allow you to join the team which is currently being slaughtered. If you then hit CAPS LOCK to check out the players, you will see that it is Privates and Sargeants against a boatload of Brigs.

What is the fun in that? Where is the challenge? These clans are usually adamant that "stat-padders will be banned" yet is there any better example of stat-padding than a dozen brigs against half a dozen noobs? After noticing this a few clans in a row, I started to notice that all of those servers were hosted by UK-based clans. And if you ever Say All during the game, "How about we balance the teams a little more?" you get slagged /banned /kicked or sworn at (mostly just made fun of, with brilliant comments such as "we can't help it if you suck", "haha whiner", etc.. So what's up with that? Why the rather huge chip on their collective shoulders?

A few tips for noobs (like me) :
    - When you join a game and every silo is the same colour, don't spawn. It won't count against your win/loss. Find another server.
    - If you hit TAB and see every player on the other team has a clan signature, and most of them are Brigs, don't bother joining, it will be a slaughter.
    - Be wary of any server where Autobalance is off. It means that they are probably using smartbalance, and forcing the teams to be unbalanced so that they never lose. It is, of course, possible that they are using smartbalance to make the server even more balanced, but a quick check of the other team before you join will tell you that in a jiffy.

Yea stay away from any servers that don't use Auto Balance which in fact i have never once come across on a UK server it is usually US servers who use this, and it is usually US server who stack teams.

We always mixed teams up on our server, was a fun knifing each other, but going onto another clan server was never that bad, cos i have never really found a good clan in general, it's not hard to join the opposite team from the hosting clan and win, well if you have skills anyway.

How about less moaing and more learning to play the game.

It happened to me a couple of times and I usually leave the server when it happens.

That's exactly what he's talking about, you get yelled at for telling other ppl about the problem.
I do agree with him, it's retarded when you are on a server where your team is made up of new players and it feels like you are dragging them along while you are the only one actually doing anything.

Whenever I get that feeling I go play a different game.

As for where it happens, it's everywhere, not only UK or US.

I wasn't yelling i was informing him, but nevertheless team stacking is a pain in the arse but most clans that do it are usually skill less anyway and can be easily owned.

I have also experienced this, although I don't recall it specifically being UK servers. Some servers actually announce it at the outset, something like "this is a clan server, we reserve the right to stack teams". I just join a different server (but I think it is honest of that clan to say-so at the outset). Most are pretty fair I have to say, when I lose I usually deserve it. But some are bad. One NS server in particular comes to mind. When you are EU, you have two spawn points, the Goliath and under the bridge. The clan stacked their team with Brigs, and then never actually took control of the under-the-bridge spawn point. Instead, they lined up all the vehicles the round offered, made a circle around the spawn point, and would just blast any spawners. Since the Goliath only allows for 5 people at once, the first 5 in would make it halfway across the bridge before it was destroyed, the rest kept spawning in the circle of death. The round ended something like 200 to zero.

I've only seen one or two US servers with AB off :|: Meh, if you see a server has stacked teams, just leave and find a new one. Thats what I do, and my W/L ratio (3.93) loves it

Actually, if you want to play for a few very boring hours, you can pretty easily up your win/loss ratio. Just join a server with AB off, and switch to the winning team before your first spawn. Repeat. You will never lose if you always pick overwhelming advantages, but it would be boring as sin.

so if AB really works as it is, all you need is an AB-off server and 1 noob willing to stay in the losing team, and it can be 63v1 fall of berlin with 2 APCs and 2 walkers spawn killing the poor guy?
                        that's boring and sad. i'll pass >.>

Werll Timeless servers are UK based and dont have a clan behind them.

They ARE ff off but that the most popular setting sadly. On top of that they are well admined. They dont accept *** hatting etc and have a great website with very active admins.

Zek you have 10,000 credits to waste in our arcade or casino. Come and have a look lol.
