  • Need Help!

    Hi everyone!!!

    It's been a while since i came here...^^

Well, anyway i came here to get some help....

I usually used a 7300GT and i just upgraded it to 8500GT last night,
and i'm starting to have some problems...

I'm not sure if the qraphic card is doing it but here's what happens...

    1. After I play anygame for like 1~2 hours, suddenly the screen goes black.

    2. It comes back on with only the game HUD gone and the sound going da da da da da da da di di di di di di di di di du du du du du du du du...

    3. The computer freezes and I just have to restart it..

    Any ideas?

It happened when i played COD4 and RF online and so on...

    Need help~!!!^^

    Happy Battlefield~!!!^^

if you're using XP, go start>run>dxdiag and do the tests. Post back with the results. Then go control panel>system>hardware>device manager> expand the display adapter tree menu, it should say 8500gt or whatever you have. Right click on this and select properties. Then go to the driver thumbnail and there it tells you if your driver is working properly... (which we suspect it isn't)

Thx for the replies. I uninstalled the drivers and cleaned it with driver cleaner.

Then I reinstalled it and updated the drivers and um... I still have the problem.

I'll try what "AmericanDad" said and ill post the results soon.

                  Man, this problem's killing me.

Hmmm, maybe something is conflicting, with the looping soundlike that could be some kinda hardware issue, do lotsa checks & scans, even disable your sound card , play without sound, u'd be sureprised those cards screw up all time.
but re=updated all drivers on every hardware & bios too. do a registry scan & fix too, defrag.....

                    also what size PSU?

                    good luck.

I tried what "Dad" said and it says my drivers dont have any problems.

R u asking for my system specs?

go to the motherboard manufactuerer's site and they should have something there for you.

wowowo updating the bios is a pretty advanced thing to do, not because it's difficult, but if it goes wrong (and these things usually go wrong) you have to be pretty good to repair it. I'm out of ideas for your problem but since you bought this 8500 new, then it's under guarantee? call tech support if no one can help you here.

Thx for the replies once again.

Well, it's getting worse. It also freezes when i'm using the internet or just using
                            it.

Could it be a virus problem?

I'm thinking of changing my xp to vista soon, so when i format it hope it gets better.

And by the way, my psu is 450W.

                            ^^ Help. Really.

Yeah you got problems dude, upgrade wont fix it unless its a clean reformatt full install.

sounds like possible virus or cpu maybe getting warm, checked your temps? blew the dust outta ur box lately? CCleaner for cleanup & registry fix, defrag.
