May I just say, and forgive my language please,.. **** punkbuster. I have a new copy of CoD4 and it keeps kicking me from multiplayer games. I have updated punkbuster to no avail and my only option is to play on the few punkbusterfree servers. So, once again... **** Punkbuster. Thank you very much.

I'm not mouthing off, thank you very much! I'm just tired of being kicked. I've tried everything from reinstalling to updating punkbuster but nothing works. The last time I played for almost 2 minutes before being kicked. The message varies and I can't remember exactly what it is, sometimes it's about initialising punkbuster but I'll check next time and let you know.

yeah... Ive got the same problem... it started a few days ago.. Im able to play for lite 2 minutes and then I get kicked for losing key packets... Ive also tried to update pb manually but nothing works... =/

Ok, the last message said "communication failure". Sorry if I seem rude but this is really pissing me off as I bought the game mostly for the multiplayer.

What did Even Balance say when you put in a support ticket with them about this problem?

Evenbalance said to run pbsetup, which I did, and which had no effect at all.

Damn, I'd rather not play the game than play on non PB servers.

Sarcasm accepted but there are vastly less non PB servers and having bought an original game and using no mods I think it's a bit unfair that I should be restricted in my choice of server. Plus, on non pb servers I will blame my losses on cheating bastards. :p

Since it's working fine for thousands of others, I wouldn't give up. Keep working with Even Balance. If their first suggestion didn't fix it, tell them and ask for the next step. There is always the option of reinstalling your game. Temporarily disabling your firewall, antivirus and internet security programs are all options to get it working. If it works after that, then one of those programs are causing the problem.

I found out that there is a xp hack n if u dl it n run it, pb will kick you... Dont know how or what message ull get.. only if u got it installed uninstall it and it will work... I turned ON my fire wall and then I stopped getting kicked... kinda wierd...

I don't have any hacks for xp and I've tried with the firewall ond and off. The punkbuster test is now working fine sending and receiving on both A and B but I'm still getting kicked from the games. Oh well, never mind I can feel better losing to a bunch of cheaters I guess.

Hi Whiskey, that exe is the same one which is on the CoD4 disk. I installed punkbuster using it and ran the test, which passed no problem. I also used the pbsetup.exe from evenbalance to upgrade punkbuster and then tested it again. It passed again. But I am still getting kicked after approximately 1 minute.
