Atleast weapon sounds in PR are closer to their real life counterparts that Bf2 gun sounds

fire a real weapon and then play bf2 and you will soon find that all the sounds are insufficient to their real-life counterparts.

this is an example of someone not firing the same weapons in real life.

Least favourite M249... wtf?! That thing sounds like it wouldn't hurt a bird. =/

Favourite would be the AK-101's. The 47's just... no. Fail.

I hate the G3 sounds in PR BTW. =P

i think part of the sound and feeling of firing a gun that makes it so unique is its loudness. i have fired a gun b4 and even teh .22s are quite loud compared to anything my speakers could produce.

The gun sounds are terrible; but honestly; why should we care. I'd rather have a nice pleasent pop from an AK-47 then the real life defeaning sound in your ears with the constant repeating of the term "Eh, What'd you say?"

The worst I've ever been deafened was while shooting my Lee Enfield No.4 Mk.1 next to my buddy with his AR-15. It was so bad we had the stereo pumping out Rammstein full till, after a few shots the music suddenly dissapeared then slowly crept back.

Disclaimer: Yes, I should have been wearing hearing protection, but this was for a special occasion where I didn't have time to secure suffecient hearing protection.

Louder, defeaning sounds= better immersion, and better immersion is always...better.
What I don`t like about the majority of games these days is that bloody footsteps, birds singin, wind blowing are louder than the bloody gunshots.
BF2 is a major fail in the audio department imho. I mean, it would have been common sense to add real time distant gunfire, even some hollywood sfx that would so suit this game, and **** like that.

C2 door charge and 3 flashbangs flying in your face, along with M4A1 fire. Always makes me jump on my chair.

Gun sounds need to be loud and "in your face" to create any kind of immersion. Most games, that have flashbangs rely on a "puff sound" and "white screen".

In SWAT4, if someone knocks into your face with a breaching charge, youll know and hear.

BF2 gun sounds are pathetic, at best.

Half Life gun sounds are also pretty damn well done. Best shotgun bang ever.

Yeah.. I have always wondered why the flashbang doesnt say "BANG" like they do IRL. Coz its actually the bang that confuses you and make your ears hurt as hell.
