    Directing airstrikes

Is it possible to manipulate the direction an aistrike comes in from?

A clanmate said it's possible, but he doesn't know how. I've tried multiple things but none of them worked, it always seems to come in from a random direction.

It seems to be random. If a UAV is up at the time of the drop, its way more accurate. Same with a heli call in.

But the problem is that depending the angle an airstrike comes in from you won't be able to get kills because of building blocking. So like say you want to bomb an alley way, you might not get it.

Well, there is no option to place it. All you get is a map and a cursor to mark the drop area.

Perhaps it has to do with your position on the map? If you are at one corner, it may come from the opposite corner?

I will try to test it out and get back wtih you all. In the mean time, maybe someone will know for sure.

I would imagine it's cosmetic only and has no affect on the effectiveness of the strike. No proof, just what my gut says.

i have found them to not be cosmetic at all. if your in between tall buildings like on Bloc then it wont hit you if its coming in at the wrong angle.

In that case, it might be part of the map design. The overhead map could be divided into "zones" and based on which zone you drop your air strike in, it has a preset "attack angle" to get the most bombs on the ground.

Might be worth getting on private server with some friends to try out.

I think the direction just goes around in a circle. I've gotten screwed over many times cuz its from the side the building blocks. I don't think that it is based on where in the map you call the strike. On wet works, I've called a bunch of air strikes in the same spot and they all come from different angles

No, there's no preset angle. I've dropped airstrikes on the same spot many times and they always come from a random angle. Really annoying !!
