The G36C

I'm interested to hear peoples opinions on this gun, i unlocked it a couple of days ago and cant seem to find an area where it outperforms any other gun, i don't find it to be particularly accurate at mid to long range, nor does it outperform an SMG at close range.

Im sure there are G36 users out there and i would be interested to hear what situations they find it useful for and why? is there a trick to this gun im just not getting?

Controled bursts really help this gun stand out. Stopping Power and Steady Aim also make it great for close range emergencies. Red Dot Sight is excellent for it as well, if you can't get used to the ironsight. I use all of those, and it's a great Close, Medium and sometimes Long range gun, mostly because of its accuracy and range. Once the ACOG scope is fixed, I'll use it most on the G36c. :)

In other words, it's a very accurate weapon with a long range, also good in close combat.

Ive been using it a lot lately, silenced with double tap and steady aim it can be a very fun and powerful gun. Its most effective at medium distance, just always use your sights.

In close range be careful to not spray, you will notice the inaccuarcy go through the roof. Use your sights and burst from the neck up, or use steady aim perk to assist if aiming is not an option.

Ive found the G36C to be a good allrounder, and enjoy its ability of being versatile close and from afar. Saying that the m4 carbine is prolly more reliable but every man and his dog seems to have one, try the G36C is stylish unique way of kicking ***.

It's a great all around gun. It doesn't excel in one area at the expense of another. It's dead accurate with the ACOG. Silencer has almost no affect on range. Two schools of thought on perks to go with it. Some people prefer Stopping Power, while other like Double Tap.

That balance is also what hurts it. The M4 or the AK is better up close, and the M14 or G3 are better at range.

I use the Bandolier w/DoubleTap and Martyrdom.
Great CQB............but........watch the spray. Especially on smaller biuilding type maps. ROF seemes slow w/o DT.

It's a mix between the AK and M4.

Better accuracy than the AK and more powerful than the M4.

If you unpack iw_11.iwd (it's actually a zip file) and look at the numbers, it appears to be inferior to m4 in every single way:

damage: 30 (normal), 20 (min) for both guns, range is identical
bullet delay in full-auto mode: 0.07 for m4, 0.08 for g36 (m4 has higher rof)
reload: 2.03 for m4, 2.1 for g36

deviation: don't know exactly which number this is controlled by, but from first hand experience m4 has lower deviation in full-auto

accuracy at range: appears to be similar, both ****ty :hmm:

With ACOG, I found that g36 has the lowest sway out of all assault guns, but on my screen the acog scope center is shifted by a few pixels to the right from the center, I posted a picture earlier.

I really like the looks of the gun tho, so hence I tried to figure out what it's good for, trying to single shot people from long range, which just doesn't work, etc. Once I gave up and went back to m16/g3, I started doing much better again.

Duno what's the deal is with this gun.

I like it, I also like the M4 . I use both. The G36C for one of my silenced profile, seems to work good at all ranges providing you use burst fire rather than full auto.

I unlocked the ACOG for the G36C today and wtf, why does it have no sway?!

If all the ACOGs were like that they'd be truly balanced, longer range, but harder up close, opposite of the reflex sight.

before i unlocked the g36 i picked it up off a dead guy it had a silencer on it i kill a few with it and thought this gun kicks a$$ cant wait to unlock it, i unlocked it and to me it sucks to high hell very weak in my opinion then again it takes 2 the head from rounds from an m14 which i couldnt believe. so i guess all the weapons are weak technically, same with barrett

so true, G36C + Silencer is great, i personally love the gun but cant force myself to use it over my silenced P90.

The sway is at a tolerable level that makes it possible to actually hit the long range targets that you equipped the ACOG for.
