Hello all,

Whilst I realise you may see this as an advertising opportunity, I would like to ask you to take a moment to view my website, which has been created as a solo project, and is not a product of a non-gaming business and judge for yourselves.

The website is awful. The graphics are bad quality, all the information is hidden in loads of clutter, the white background does not fit and last but not least the counter you have in the bottom just takes the impression of your website a notch down.

The idea, though, is pretty nice but nonetheless not unique these days.

Out of interest, whilst I'm happy to take critiscism, can you explain what you mean by 'bad quality'? - Surely, for instance, the graphics on this forum, i.e. the top banner are literally 'bad quality' due to their poorly compressed nature? Do you mean that they are simply unpleasantly designed?

It's difficult to offset a page visually to provide a balance between crisp/readable and interesting/busy - if you provide too little, people can feel that your site does not offer enough. This is just my reasoning, if you like.

The idea - I created a different version 2 years ago, when the only similiar service was Prizefight, which is now defunct. Even Tournament.com is under reevaluation.

Yes, the 'bad quality' was all about the header. That is something you have to fix, ASAP. But as I am browsing here again I notice the gradients on the buttons are pretty bad quality too.

Something that I know would make the site easier to read/comprehend/appreciate/whatever would be to make some kind of border between the middle div (I trust you use div's) and the other white part of the site. And perhaps make the middle div's BG a bit darker, to distinguish it from the other (white) part of the site.

Hello again, and thanks for the constructive feedback.

I'm surprised and concerned about the gradients, they appear fine on various screens/pc's here - at least as far as my eyesight can discern.

I can see from some of your other posts that you know what you are talking about so I don't doubt what you are saying.

Do you think you could possibly post a screenshot of what you are seeing in your browser? That way, I can get a better idea of the resolution you are viewing at, etc. I realise it's a pain, but I'd certainly appreciate it.

I totally agree about the complexity of that middle section, it's something that's been through substantial changes over the last few weeks.

Anyway, it's good to talk about these things - designing the site without any outside feedback is difficult!
