bf2 wont start! help!

ok i installed BF2 and then i was ready to play but for some reason it wouldn't start up. it just says BF2 and then all i saw was my desktop..

someone told me vista does not allow bf2 to start up but i don't believe it. so i would like you guys to help cuz i really wanna play.

btw i played it on my old computer but first time on this new computer and it wont run!

is this an cd error?
