"Contacting EA Master Server"

I apologise if someone else has posted on this but I seem to be the only person with this problem. After the heinous patch 1.4 I get stuck at the login screen with the message "Contacting EA Master Server".

It stays like this indefinitely and I cant play the god damn game. Ive had this problem with previous patches but always managed to fix it with a reinstall, but not this time. Anyone else had a similar experience or know how to fix it? Ive tried everything I can think of, Firewall, Antivirus, Cache, PB, Defrag, Reinstall (three times) etc.

There's no point contacting EA cos they tell you the usual generic bull that even the newest PC gamer could figure out. I've looked at forums all over the place and I have never seen this problem posted. Dare I say that the infamous 1.4 patch has permanently borked my game and Its time to take it out back to the barn and give it both barrels?

*Update; I left it at the "Contacting EA Master Server" screen for half an hour, and eventually got this message: "Could Not Connect to EA Online, Please Try Again or Select Offline Mode". This is seriously nothing to do with my internet connection or firewall. Patch 1.25 was fine

I the same problem when trying to connect to my account at a friends house, with 1.4. I restarted the machine, no luck. but, once i cycled his modem and router, it connected just fine.

may try doing that, as even with a full game reinstall, if it's a networking equipment hiccup, that wouldn't fix it. worth a shot, right? good luck
