Enthused by level of dev support?

Anyone else enthused by the level of support the game is getting after launch?

I think that IW is doing a great job of identifying and fixing issues. I can't believe that we are already working towards patch 1.3 only a few weeks into the game!

Here's hoping that they keep up the good work and recognize that there are a number of changes (listed in other threads) we'd like to see implemented.

    GOOD WORK INFINITY WARD :yay:

QFT! The game is also new and going into a major holiday buying season. Post this again in 6 months and lets see where we are.

I have to say I'm disappointed with the way patches are released.

Mainly, the patches aren't mandatory. When a patch is released that fixes an exploit, it should be mandatory and it should not be backwards compatible. If you're still running 1.0 and the server you're on is also on 1.0 then you can be a victim of the lean glitch still.

Yeah, that's not great. But, it does put the onus on the player, doesn't it? They can definately make some improvements here, though.

Also, the patch 'auto update' feature is fubared badly.

But, my point is that I perceive that they're trying and that is appreciated.

Dice/EA gave just as much support in the begining, we had our share of patches for BF2 and 2142 right at the begining, then things fall off for a while while the developers work on Nerfing weapons, once that's done they have to fix what they screwed up nerfing weapons, then come in and nerf the weapons that are overpowered after the first nerf, then come back and add bullet damage and range to weapons they nerfed.

If this is your first or second multiplayer game, then welcome to Deja Vu land, because all Multiplayer FPS's follow that exact path, bookmark this post and then check back in a year, bet I'm right.

I still don't understand why even after installing V1.2, it still says i'm running V1.1. I haven't been the victim of any glitches, and the connection issues are fixed which is nice.

Well in all fairness to EA/DICE they also had several patches out in the first month or so.

That's true, they did. Of course even after those patches the frequency and variety of crashes I encountered in 2142 was astounding. Still a very good game, imo, but it could have been so much more.

We'll see how IW does in the coming months. Here are some things they should try to do that DICE could not:

                    1. Keep open lines of communication with the player base. Radio silence from the Devs sucks.

                    2. Don't ignore huge, well known technical issues so you can focus on an expansion.

                    3. Don't get too heavy handed with the nerfing/buffing. I don't know why Devs always seem to increase/decrease effectiveness by 50% when 5% would suffice.

                    Anyway, GG so far IW!

They are scared of the fans` onslaught, so they have to support this one. CoD2`s support was horrible, although the game itself wasn´t as bad as BF2.
All I hope now is that they don`t do what DICE did and listen to the bloody community about balancing n stuff, they need to test it themselves.
They got everything right with CoD1, hope the same will happen to CoD4.

Yeah, Ozen you've got it exactly right, why are weapons always so badly changed? Going by even 1% in multiple mini patches would be better.

Good work so far from IW, though.

BTW people, CAPS LOCK isn't yelling. Your words will not carry through the Valley of Intrawebz and into the ears of IW. They don't come to the forum, they don't see it, no one cares.

I agree that they do nerf weapon's way to much for no reason, just cuz some noob say's some thing bad about it. I think they are all fine right now. I just can't wait till they fix the ACOG it will be a good scope and make some of the gun's work they way they where ment to.
