New to Battlefield 2

Hi im completely new the bf2 and have just installed and had a little go single player. However when I try to access the internet it says online account already exists but goes no further. Can anyone help? also are there any updates or major downloads I need to get?

Download the 1.41 patch. I dont have a link, just google it. You have to create an accound and then you just log on that account...

You need to think of an account name that hasn't already been used.

And yes, the current patch is v1.41.

It appears the player ID you're trying to use has already been taken by someone else. You'll have to keep trying until you come up with a name that hasn't been used yet.

Regarding updates, as noted earlier the 1.41 patch is the latest. I don't remember if that included the Highway Tampa map. If not, you'll have to download it separately (it's free).

Thanks for that, but I have a couple more problems. One is that I installed the armored fury booster pack and when I try to access one of the maps from the pack it just tells me that I need to purchase the booster pack!?!? Problem 2 is I downloaded a map pack from the battlefield site that includes atom but when I try to access the map it loads it and just as im about to enter it kicks me off the game altogether without any error messages!!! Any ideas?

that happens to me with my extra maps, it just closes to desktop
but with the alcatraz one

Regarding the user-created maps, many do not include any SP/co-op support. Specifically, the TotalBF2 map packs don't since they were all created before there were tools available to add bot support. You need to search for maps that specifically say they have SP/co-op support. Many are available from BFSP: http://battlefieldsingleplayer.plane...ld.gamespy.com

For the booster packs, you need to register them with EA and link your product key with your BF2 nickname; the boosters will only run with the account they've been linked to. You also can't run them using an offline account unless you rename the maps (see BFSP forum for details).

go here & sign in with your EA account, if you dont have one, make one, then you will see where to register your game. with the boosters you will need to have a "in game" name made & use it , it will be only one the boosters will work with.

Is there a way to play user-created maps with the demo?

I haven't tried it but it might work. Note that maps made for later patches that have co-op mode, vehicle drops, or use the EU army won't work with the demo since those things didn't exist in the demo. There may be other map objects that the demo doesn't have as well.

i got that error 5000 times, was so pissed, i even wrote EA & well i noob & hadden ahd battlefiled long, and was lookin in my book & seen the parts about new mapps in AF & EU, & there was one i though "did i play that last night " so i went on multiplayer found one & hit join & boom.

i think that valid code thing is a glitch or fart of somekind. just try to join a game. if that dont work write EA they will respond.:nod:
