    Playing with no hit indication!!!

I was in a server a few weeks back where I was unable to see my hit indication. You know...that star thingy that appears once you hit an enemy. Im not sure if its a server option but I was playing with a clan member and he too experienced the same thing.

That was my first time experiencing BF2 in such a manner and I have to say, it wasnt bad at all. What I realised after a few rounds is how much of a crutch the hit indicator is. I even enjoyed the game more because I wasnt focused on shots that indicated I hit my enemy 4 times and he doesnt go down. You pretty much end up plugging your enemies until they go down. Shunning off the any missed shots as just that...MISSED SHOTS!!

Yes, we all know that BF2's hit registry is bonkers but it makes me wonder if people would have complained as much if Dice left out the hit indicator all together.

If anyone hasnt tried this before I suggest you do. I believe it can be turned off in the options screen by simply unchecking a box.

If this is a server side option (unsure) Im surprised that more servers dont implement this.

The hit indicator in Bf2 shouldnt be there... Coz its way to easy to find where ppl are hiding when your in a na APC. Just shoot randomly at buildings till you see the cross thinggy.

Btw, play PR No hit indicators there

        I'm pretty sure it's a BF2cc option.

Servers can have the option to turn hit indication on or off, its just that most servers turn hit indication on.

Yea I agree, I've done this too...

I played some 1.0 because of a windows re-install and the hit detection was quite horrible... worse than it is now. Maybe it was just a ping issue. *shrug*

^^^^^ Doesnt that apply to any FPS game? Why would you stop shooting other wise? What Im basically saying is that you focus less on the bad hit registry and more on killing your enemy.

I still don`t see why games introduced this stupid hit indicator in the first place.

Probably to somehow make up for the crappy hit detection
