Black Terrain, Flickering

my system:

2 gigs patriot Ram ddr2
7950 GT 512 MB XFX
4600+ X2
asus m2n-sli deluxe

Problem:

When i play cod4 all players are Black, weapon is striaght black, objects are straight black, grass is black.

It has nothing to do with brightness, its like a shadow bug because ill run into the sunlight then my gun will light up with the Camo color and be normal, same happens when other players run into the light..

i have tried turning shadows off, someone told me it was because of nvidia driver so i dl'ed a new one... everything worked fine until all players on my screen started flickering from normal color to black again..

any help would be appreciated..

Try this:
1. DL Driver Cleaner Pro (google it)
2. Run it in safe mode
3. reinstall your drivers again and report back.

I too have a 7950GT. I went to Nvidia and grabbed the beta drivers, which seemed to fix it. Just do as was stated above, and you will be fine.

i did that and it fixed the problem but when i powered up my pc the screen was fed and i had to reinstall the old drivers

yeah i would go with up dating ur gfx card drivers, whever it be the lastest or even beta.

if that fails or dont completely solve ur prob, i would then get hold of the lastest DX 9.0c (XP2) or DX10 (vista)

theres been a few lil updates with DX10, u might not have it.

try turning off anti aliasing... Worked for me in bf2... =)
