There's also no proof it's not connected. And since they called it the EPILOGUE, that sorta' hints that it is part of the story.
ok, so if soap makes it out ok when the tanker blows, i dont see why price wouldent, inless he got hit with shrapnel, and he didnt look like he would be dead in 30 seconds when he gives you the gun...?

I think he is dead because when you scan your crosshair over an alive player it says their name. When you scan yours over Cpt. Price's at that instant it doesnt show his name.
Gaz, Desert Eagle to the head, dead.
Price, showed no signs of life and medic failed to resuscitate him, dead.

That was an interactive cutscene kind of thing - and even griggs when he was alive dint say Griggs
