Loading without internet connection

I just puchased Battlefield 2142 and I am in the military stationed in the middle east. I do not have a way to connect to the internet with my computer, so is there any other way I can load the game without connecting to the internet? I have a couple of friends who are in the same boat and we wanted to play over LAN connection. I am new to the Battlefield experience and would love to play. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think you need an internet connection to creat an account, once you have created an account you should be able to play offline.
Or you might just need to install the 1.40 patch....or both.
