mine is doing exactly the same thing. COD 4 was working fine before. I've patched the game and manually installed the latest PBuster. I've also done all sorts of firewall confirguration. I got booted evey time. Any ideas?

i just figured it out - i dont kno the exact cause but i did go thru a looong list of instructions of multiple things that may have fixed it. i suggest if u cant get it to work then msg me and ill take the time to type most of it. main thing to do first tho is to run pbsetup.exe, if that dont work, this may - go into your pb folder in your call of duty 4 folder.. run pbsvc.exe

                Give this a shot.

                1) Make sure COD4 is off.
                2) Start up Control Panel.
                3) Go to Administrative Tools.
                4) Go to Services.
                5) If you see both Pnkbstr A (or something like that) and Pnkbstr B, then click on B and stop it.
                6) Restart Pnkbstr A.
                7) If you had to stop B, then start it again.
                8) Now you might be good to go. Hope this works.

This is not a permanent fix unfortunately, but it's the only thing that's worked for me.

                (First post by the way:))
