mpdata fails

hey guys just alittle heads up a friend of mine backed up his mpdata file then did a format on his machine

reinstalled everything and boom guess what it the mpdata back up does not work

anyone else formatted and tried to get it to work ?

i just made a backup of the whole Profile folder.

Argh, I thought I'd be clever and backup my mpdata file... then when I loaded my game all my stats were gone. So much for being proactive! I tried to restore but there was no difference.

Oh well, I got to lvl55 really quickly the first time, I suppose it will be even faster the second.

Hmm, my mpdata file got corrupted (Had to restore Windows and it reset my stats), but my backup worked fine.

I started up COD4 this afternoon and to my surprise my mpdata was corrupt . I opened the folder and deleted the new mpdata and renamed mpdata.corrupt to mpdata and it says its corrupt again, and makes a new, empty mpdata. WTH!!

It thinks you altered your stats, so it created a new one. I also had the mpdata.corrupt file and deleted it. I don't know its purpose.

Best bet is to do as Scinto sad and back up the whole profile folder, the mpdata file works with with the serial key as validation providing both are as they should be there shouldn't be any problems .
