I just reinstalled bf2 and now i can't join any servers...HELP!

reinstalled bf2 after cleaning out my pc, and after installing patch 1.41 i can't join any servers at all only a couple, but thats like 4 out 2,000 servers. whats the deal here? is it because i went straight to patch 1.41(full)?
i reinstalled bf2 many times since 2005 and never had a problem until now, thanks.

no error message.
i just login to bf2 and all the server are in red(which means i can't join).
i reinstalled the patch twice already, not sure what's going on.

i dont think its cos u went straight to patch 1.41 cos i just installed it 2-3 days ago too and went straight to 1.41

wat are the numbers in the corner of ur menu (1.1.2.. etc)

install 1.41 again from a different location (don't worry about uninstalling - just overwrite when or if it asks you to)

the first time was from filecloud and when that didn't work i tried ea's site and again it didn't work...right now i'm half way thru 1.41 on filecloud again. i also reinstalled bf2 again, and a friend of mine told me to update my card before hand, so i did that..hope this works.

servers showing up as red is not a video card driver issue. it's a version issue.

if you check the "same version only" and "same mod" checkboxes and the servers are still red - then you have one of two problems:

1. its a bug and the red can be joined
2. buy a legal copy of the game and see if that fixes it.

i have a feeling that it might have been the patch since it's so large, and takes 4 hrs. to dl. (something is bound to happen with a patch that size.)

hey man how did u end up fixing it cos it sounds like i'm having the exact same problem. Its been a while since i played, dl'ed 1.41, do i have to put the patch setup file in one of my bf2 folders? when i double click the patch setup file, it thinks about it for a few seconds then nothing happens......

The patch has to unpack all the files, so it seems as if it isn't doing much. It will eventually install itself (mine takes 6 mins from start to finish) If you have installed BF2 in it's default directory there's no need to put the patch anywhere else than where u dl it, just double click on it and let it do it's thing!

If it doesn't do anything you might have a corrupted file and may need to dl it again, if so do it from a different site from where you originally dl'd it from.
