25 mm canon?

Hi guys,

Please look at the screenshot. Notice the gun killing the guy from the BRUNZ clan (sorry for the namedropping but there is no harm intended), this doesn't look like a gun I'm familiair with... (the 20mm gun)

Anyone seen this?

it's a bug. i believe it's caused by a shot coming out of the APC cannon and the APC dies before the shot kills you.

don't quote me on it - but i've seen it before.

This happened to me when I solo tved and apc and the wreckage killed someone. Thought it was pretty weird. I have a SS somewhere.

This happens "usually" when you kill someone, but at the moment of their death, you are not on your vehicle. As such, you can shoot a tank shell at someone, and if you bail before the shell hits the victim and kills them, you get the "120mm cannon" kill message, for example.

i was in a F18, drop bombs, and bailed (low health, and mig up my ***), while parachuting, i got a kill message with MK82(or something liek that)

Crap. I know you can replicate such results with choppers and jets, I figured it was the same with tanks.

I wish it would always do that, and track it. Right now there's no way to tell if tank kills are from the main cannon or the machine guns.
Like "M1 Abrams 120mm cannon" and "M1 Abrams .50 cal machine gun", and if you roadkill someone, just "M1 Abrams". See what I mean? Cause it'd be interesting to see my TV shots accuracy without having it combined into the rest of my chopper stats.

So, I take it that it's not just me who immediatley checks to see what it was that killed me when I suffer spawnage?

You know, I cant be sure. But the easiest way to check it out is to drop a load of bombs onto a flag and bail before they hit the ground. If you get "250lbs bomb" or "mk210" (or something), then the patch hasnt "fixed" it. To be honest, it never strikes me as a bug so I have no reason to believe that DICE fixed it.

I saw somebody get a kill once with "HELLFIRE TV" and that was pretty badass. I think that was in 1.4 though.

Also, bailing out of jets after dropping bombs doesn't give you anything in the kill messages, same as dropping arty and resigning as Commander.

If you set artillery and resing, then it shows [artillery] as blue (if not in squad) and there is a text: you killed blaablaa, but you cant see your kill at the scorelist.
