So i have reinstalled windows less than a week ago, reinstalled bf2, the patch, updated PB, and the game was working fine.
The past 2 days since yesterday afternoon ( it worked fine for a while) than it started giving me an error saying " There is a problem with your connection" The moment im about to select a kit and spawn.
I have had this problem before for a few days before i reinstalled windows and after a few days it went away, im not patient to wait a few days :)
Anybody else have this problem? know what to do?

i've heard of alot of peep having trouble & i reckon PB is doing another one of its "things" what ever it is i donno but makin life tough for alot.
try makein sure the server lists a good ping for you before you join will probaby help.
could be your connection though, check your speed.

thank god im not alone because this happens to me with bf2 and 2142 and it seems i can only join servers if i get lucky and the tv2 servers

And for the last poster... i can not connect to any server AT ALL till the error message completely goes away...
And to JustMe: I always try to connect to server with a ping of max 100, usually between 30-90

Im not sure what you meant about connection specs, but i did a bandwidth speed test using
manx.net and the results were : 56864.1 Kbps
6968.6 K bytes/sec

im also noticing a green,red or yellow bar appearing on the left of the server you chose (where they show you its ranked or had punkbuster). what are these?

How do i find out this info?

Well someone must have set up your internet connection: whoever else lives with you possibly? ask them what speed you have, if you're using wireless, if the connection is shared.

The internet is shard with two computers in the house, but this computer is connected to the main one and the other computer is wireless and connects through a card to a router.
But the internet on the other computer is rarely used besides email.

is there a firewall with the router? you can take that router out & hook straight up & see if the router is causeing your probs. cause they can especially when they go bad. my bro. in law threatened the DSL company & they kept telin him it was on his end. well find out his router was Kaput & they was right.:salute:

The router isnt actually connected to my computer, because my computer is directly connected to the modem.. or atleast i think so...
How do i find out if the router has a firewall? and why would it be acting up just now and not always?

yepp if you have to have a router i'd use the modem routers.
those things you get at walmart are POS's

you'll just ahve to trace the wires down, no matter where the router is , if your connection goes thru it, then you gotta deal with it. the settings should be in the router controls, i havent had one in a long time & cant remember but i think there in the control panel.

american dad might know, but setting here thinking i think you enter in teh router ip in teh browser jsut like you do to get to the modem settings.....

I'm experiencing EXACTLY the same problem, but I'm also getting kicked by PB for "losing key packets". This is doin' me nut in!! There's absofreakinlutley nothing wrong with my internet connection and this issue has only occurred in the last couple of days. Friggin thing. Any advice for a stoopid person (re: pooters) would be greatly appreciated.

try this>

First go to your C:\Windows\system32\ and see if the PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe are there. If not do not worry.

Second, check your firewall/virus scan program to see what it is blocking and allowing. Look for the pnkbstraA and B, unblock/allow them to run. If you do not see pnkbstraB, do not worry I will get to that soon. If you see both and unblock/allowed that should do it.

If you do not see them then go to http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe.
Before you download it turn off your firewall/viruscan program. Download it and run it. Do the install/reinstall with your firewall/viruscan program off.

Once you've run it and there are no errors, check your C:\Windows\system32\ folder and see if PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe are there, they should be.

Next turn your firewall/viruscan program back on and unblock/allow both A and B. If you do not see B still manually add the pnkbstraB.exe to your list of things to allow/block. Make sure you allow/unblock anything with pnkbstra in it.
