Got to agree with quite a few of your points, the lack of global stats visible to all and sundry, the infantry only combat, regular patches (a vast improvement by IW from CoD2)
I love the variety of weapons, perks and the custom class options. That is what BF2142 kit selection should of been, and was made out to be when it was first announced.
The vast majority of maps are well laid out, and work perfectly for the intended number of players. However when you go over that number, such as the 50+ servers then they start to feel very, very, very small.
There's definitely some flaws in CoD4 though.
The easier ranking is a little to easy.
Airstrikes/Helicopters are too easy to achieve and way to regular.
Custom classes can be quite annoying if you want to create a new one while already on a server but aren't really sure what selection you want to make, due to being only available for like 30 seconds between the end of the round and the new map loading. (If you're not on a server, this isn't a problem and you can take as long as you like)
Hardcore mode is very good, but I think there should be either changes to it, or create an 'Extreme Hardcore' mode. 'Extreme Hardcore' mode would be identical to Hardcore mode, but with the removal of airstrikes/helicopters, nades, and the n00btube.
Server browser needs a little work, there's missing filters and joining a full server dumps you back to the main screen, rather than back to the server browser.
And to make thing worse, hacks are already out there. There was even someone using an aimbot the other day.
But if BF3 came out tomorrow, I'd be all over it. You just can't beat the BF series, you can be close, but no match or surpass it.
