EDIT: ET:QW sucks....really bad! Graphics are crap, gameplay is crap, no teamwork, everybody is just doing something which they shouldn't do, vehicles feels like crap.

I respect your opinion because thats exactly what i would post in a thread like this.. i was kinda angry at the time of my OP so yeah.. honestly i just wish that some of my fav servers wernt gone.. like BFB's Camp Gib server has been empty most of the time ive been online and the disconnects are driving me crayzee... wish there was some way to change the name of the thread ;l

I'm still playing BF2142, but only like two hours a week. :laugh: And maybe when i get to buy CoD4, i might be able to get back into FPSs and play more often BF2142 and CoD4.

And slaney, i was glad i downloaded the demo of ET:QW because i was really gonna buy the game. But after seeing that crappy demo which started to bore me after a few minutes, i changed my mind. Everything sucks at it, only good thing is art, which isn't that good either.
But most important is the KNIFING, i mean it's cool and all to disguise yourself but to get a one hit kill on someone by standing behind them is crappy.
If i would stab someone, i would rather stab them right in the face :p

Agreed, BF2142 is still a solid game and makes me wanting more all the time. I enjoy the vehicle maps from time to time and it makes the game that more multi-dimensional. COD I'm sure is a good game but BF2142 has more to offer in my eyes.

ill be selling my copy of COD4 and Crysis on ebay probably sooner then later. nothing will make me stop playing BF2142. and now im looking to start playing BF2, because i honestly never had the chance to play it, a little late to jump into this game but oh well. Not to mention that people have already found out how to make their soldier in COD4 a 5 start general with all the unlocks without even having to play one round! and eventually all the cheaters with hacks will be there, this game is gonna get ugly quick...

Which game are you describing, COD or BF2142 The stats issue was patched in the 1.1 patch I believe. I personally uninstalled 2142 because it has no replay value at all. It was a lot of fun the first few months, then we realized EA would put no effort into supporting the game at all. Weak patches and repetitively boring maps killed the game. There were some pretty major bugs to that effectively killed it for me, they really need to work on their game support for future games if they want people to keep coming back. I'm not creating a thread stating why this game sucks because a lot of people do enjoy it and I respect that, it's just I won't be buying another Battlefield game until EA shows some significant improvement.

there are still loads of awards left for me to get .

I still enjoy BF2142 even after so many hours and my second soldier is on its good way to the top. Lots of hours, yes. Sometimes dull, sometime even duller. But once a while, the teamwork and the coordination between you the squadleader and the commander just feel like dancing and they just clicked. Even if that round itself went to a loss wouldnt wipe that smile from my face. It's just like life, some good things are worth waiting for and I dont think there is any other game in the market right now can give me that feeling.

To all above, i agree... BF is an amazing series.. its patches may not be the greatest but its one of those games that keeps you coming back for more.. Heroin of the E-World :O I managed to get BF working for a few hours yesterday so im pretty happy.. might defrag my disk to see if that helps..

Hey don´t try to make excuses, it was what you where feeling at the moment, I don´t know why people become so angry...this is a forum, if you don´t like the game, post it, if you´re angry post it, if I couldn´t get to play this game I would become annoyed and maybe I would come here to vent.
Don´t change your oppinion because everyone is pissed with you.
I love this game, the bugs that this game has don´t bother me, I won´t stop playing this game in the near future, but I admit that people can have different oppinions, and I won´t smack people for posting that this game or that game is better.

This is a democarcy and you haven´t insulted no one so don´t worry. And as people like to say, there are lots of threads about this, yes it´s true, but there are lots of threads about almost everything so this one doesn´t stands out.

I did not play bf2142 for a good 5 months, our whole clan just died, everyone move on to Halo3, and TF2.

I then got COD4 since Crysis plays like crap on my comp. Had fun with the SP then MP was great for what it is...I like it but yea it gets repetitive like everything else, kind of the reason why I stopped playing 2142.

Then one of my old clan members told me about the latest patch with the new highway tampa map.

So here I am waiting for the DL!

Yea, kind of missed the experience with BF2142....had loads of fun, hopefully it will appeal to me again!

The game, on release, has run smoother for me than BF2142 ever has, not to mention how it's such a beautiful game, with same FPS as BF2142 for me. Already it's had 2 patches to fix up minor problems, and those patches didn't cause even more problems! So the devs certainly care about it.

And TBH, vehicles are boring. I'm quite glad they aren't in CoD4, it makes for fun infantry combat, without the drawback of "walker's here, I'll be back in 15 seconds".

Easier ranking allows for a person to actually enjoy time on an unranked server, what a concept! With only light playing daily I'm rank 45 out of 55, and have enjoyed playing knowing that my every kill, death, and teamwork point wasn't being recorded for all to see. There is no global stats tracking, only local for you to see if you wish.

Plus, it's moddable!

Haven't had any problems after installing the patch. Still have not had a chance to try out the new map online. Explored it abit on single player lan and thought the map looks well made. Can't go off play cod4 since my computer can't run it.

edit: come to think of it, I have noticed the ping on the servers that i usually frequent are slightly higher than pre 1.40, like +20 latency. Anyone else get the same thing?

Have you tried COD 4? I think if your computer can handle BF2142, it should definately be able to run COD 4 unless you're running 2142 on all low...

In my opinion...CoD4 is lacking alot. I got it when it came out and within 24 hrs, i was already a 5 star gen. Its so full of nade spammers and grenade launching whores, that half the time you die within the first 10 seconds of the round. Also with all the people that add the bullet penetration perk, all they do is shot at the walls and you die. There is absolutly no squad play(everybody is rambo). And the gameplay is fast like CS. To me...its the most frustrating game to play and I am happy to be playing 2142 again.

You must have been playing deathmatch/teamdeathmatch on a non-hardcore mode server. Try another mode, like HQ mode, on a hardcore server. It's a much different experience.
