no l96a1 file?

i tried to downlod but it dosent get farther than about 130 mb, idk if this is a problem with my connection or what, but ive never been able to dounloads somthing oner 150mb

One file won't do you any good unless you just want to look at it. To actually add the weapon to a mod you need a bunch of other files too. You need to download a patch, at least version 1.20. You can't just add it to your game and use it online either; to use it online you must install the latest patch and play on ranked servers until you can unlock it.

why would i have to download a patch to make a certian gun work? and i would need just the weapon folder, it has all the nessesary info. objects_server has the .tweak and objects_client has the skins an textures

because the euro forces weapons where only added with the 1.3 patch or higher (the 1.2 patch added the SF weapons aswell as its bug fixes) the weapon files are not included in the original BF2 archives.

I would reccommend using a program like 'free download manager' which can resume downloads so you dont have to worry about files failing/timing out midway through downloading

Actually the 1.10 patch that was included in SF had the SF weapons and the 1.20 patch added the EU weapons. Otherwise, that's exactly right. Without the 1.2 patch or higher the L96A1 simply does not exist in any form in BF2; no .tweak files, no skins or textures, no menu or HUD icons.

As he said earlier in the thread he's running the patch included with SF which is 1.10 which means he does not have those files. They don't exist unless you have at least patch 1.20.
