LMGs with Grip are broken

Just an FYI, once you get the Grip, its like the ultimate Assault/SMG/LMG in the game. Combine that with perks like Stopping Power, Steady Aim, or Deep Impact and it just shows you how bad it can be. I love it, its really fun, but before some other ppl figure this out and we find full servers with LMG whores I'd like to raise this topic. Other combos I find intelligent and still require some skill to use, not the LMG with grip.

Damn, this is basically my favorite combo, SAW with grip attachment, with stopping power and deep impact as my perks

Thats what i think too. I mean, why would i deliberately choose to use a rifle that isn't as good?
It's just another phrase made by people who get all upset when they get shot.

RPD is one of my favorite weapons. M60 + Grip + Double Tap + Steady Aim = P90 on steroids.

I actually prefer the red dot on the M60. The iron sights are just so !@#$ in your face. The RPD w/ grip on the other hand...

You really don't need Stopping Power with the LMG. I prefer something like Double-Tap or Sleight of Hand.

On maps like Block, or Bog, they are great, but they tend to suffer in maps like Vacant. Even with Steady Aim, they are terrible for up close spray. You'll get put down by the Assault Rifles and SMG's.

Overall weapon balance in CoD4 is some of the best I've every seen. I've seen just about every weapon used against me so far seen some rather interesting perk combos to suit individual play styles.

The RPD was the first thing I ever used past rank 4, only grip once I got it. You'll find it has limitations versus anyone who's at least a little skilled with their gun of choice. A good G3 or M16 user will own you in 3 shots/1 burst, A good SMG (or any SMG) will still own you in CQB, same with shotties, and a good sniper will still own you at long range.

The place where LMGs are actually overpowered is hardcore mode. Spray and pray away, you've got 100 bullets and a one hit kill.
