freezes up before i can even choose my kit, please help

So i turned on my computer and tried to play some CoD4 but when i tried it kept freezing 10 seconds after it finished loading and i dont know why. I was able to play perfectly fine this whole week and now i cant. I updated the new patch and also manually updated the Punkbuster, i even changed the settings to the lowest they could be but still froze up.
Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone know a way to fix it b/c i really want to play this weekend since i cant play much b/c of college.

oh and i also tried reinstalling it but it didnt change anything, and singleplayer still plays perfectly

If it worked, then doesnt, something has changed. Since you re-installed and it still doesnt work, maybe a patch on something else or an upgrade/update?

i updated with the new 1.1 patch after i reinstalled it, so unless there is another update i am missing then i dont think thats it... if there is please tell me
