Patch doesn't allow me to connect

Hello,
Last night I installed the 1.4 BETA 3 patch seeing as how the actual 1.4 patch is corrupted everywhere. So now, when I try to log on, the game doesn't do anything past 'Connecting to EA Master Server' when I log in at the start. It doesn't seem like anybody else is having this problem, so what could it be?

Any help would be appreciated.

when you try to login alt tab out of the game to see if your anti virus program interupts it, i got to alt tab each time because ghey mcaffee doesnt wanna listen to me.

Well, that doesn't seem to be the problem..however, after installing the patch, would I have to re-allow 2142 to get through my firewall?

I'll try that now and see what happens.

You shouldn't have to tell your firewall to allow it again. Are you sure it the EA master server isnt down?
