I will only get BF3 if the PR DEV's decide to make a mod for it

I'll get it after i scope the demo, imsure they will have one. i dont buy none of them without gettin a few hints from the demo's.

and if the demo's good i'll buy it & play & time i get sick of the arcade'ness that im sure it will have then my bet is that the good ole boys at PR will hopfully have a mod ready for it.....:salute:

Agreed.... but I've always thought that COD sucked. I always wondered why so many people played it, I always found it rather limited and I wasn't crazy about the physics either.

cod 4 has ups and downs

-ups
-the combat. does everythign bf2 should have done.
-spamming stuff like nades etc. gone. dophin diving. gone.
-crazy customizations
-realism and attention to detail
-small but very well done and intense maps. and lots of interior spaces

-downs
-small scale maps
-no vehicle combat


for most part il love bf2 and cod 4 but if u combined the two plus some tactical games like graw and rainbow six. throw in an rts element like tom clanceys end war. and youl have the wargame of the century.

CSS and CoD4 have objectives... If you used "teamwork/tactics" in BF2, then you don't know what those really are until you played Project Reality...

bf2 has the engine for TW, but it just isnt there in vanilla, too many rambo's. and my guess is cod4 & crysis will be the same way unless PR makes a mod (if there modable , i donno if they are)for them.

bf2 is still being sold off the shelf what 5yrs later? & people get on here dishing it? it sure mopped the floor with the 2142 hype, and my guess is it will still be around for a long time.

cod4 plays like bf2(teamwork wise) but it helsp to spawn near friendlies and for some reason i play cod4 more realistically then bf2(again no tactics unless with a dedicated group of friends\as with most games)

Well teamwork wise i dont think changing the game will get you better teammates to be honest,
unless you be given bots if you catch my drift

I think CoD4 is a nice addition to my "collection" of games and won't replace anything I already play, just something else to spend time on.

You obviously have never played in a good Search & Destroy CoD server have you?

PR blows. I downloaded it today and it lags like a *****. I started lagging out after throwing a smoke grenade.

PR/Cod4 = FAIL

Nothing special, plenty of better FPS's for the PC. Console fags seem to like it, then again they've never had a single decent FPS with the exception of Halo or Goldeneye.

It's interesting that so many people have opinions when they don't want to like it or haven't (really) tried it. Just because you've joined a game where they ran around like chickens with their heads cut off doesn't mean that is typical. You joined a poor choice for a server.

CoD4 is not BF2. As outlined above, CoD4 is about infantry combat where BF2 is about combined arms combat.

I do agree that the maps are small compared to BF maps but they are meant to be smaller size server configs than what you may be used to. My recommendation for BF2 players is to play Team Death Match (TDM) or Domination at around 12-16 players. Domination will seem very familiar as it is capture and hold.

The maps are gorgeous, well thought-out and very fun. There are objective mode games like Sabotage and Search & Destroy where you have to either place a suitcase bomb or intercept it. That's pretty fun, too. The devs have conciously eliminated grenade spam, TKing for vehicles and many other things which get in the way of getting into the fight and shooting at the enemy.

Does CoD4 replace BF2? No way, Jose! Did checkers replace chess? If you like to move tactically and shoot, CoD4 is a fun break from the same old BF2 stuff. Then, when you've got your fill, you can fire up BF2... it doesn't have to be one or the other. It can be both.
