Is COD4 ranked?

Haven't played COD4 yet, but is it globally ranked like BF2?

It is kinda of like Halo. You gain experience points the more you play. As you gain points your rank (like sergeant master sergeant etc) goes up. Plus you unlock equipment and abilities that way. I looked it up im not sure but it looks like Xbox 360 has a ranking system but PC does not.

Yes. There are levels, which give you weapon and perk unlocks. Then there are ranks, which are shiny images to say you're better than so-and-so. PC does have a ranking system, your multiplayer rank is stored on your computer so you don't have to log in.
