Alot of people have been complaining about the bullet registry for all snipers and there is absolutley nothing wrong with it. You simply have to be patient and when you hold your breath wait 1-2 seconds so that your crosshair has completley stopped, then procede with your shot. You will never miss this way. Same thing with a moving target, wait until your crosshair is still and lead your shot to where the enemy is headed. With most sniper rifles anything from the upper chest to the head will be a 1 shot kill. I will make a movie eventually to show all of this. Hope this helps.

the holding your breath thing is ********, you have to do it to even fire at someone 10 feet infront of you when you're using a sniper rifle. In real life that only pertains to shots with some distance on them. I can hit someone 50 feet away without having to be prone, and have held my breath for 2 seconds.

Question to you guys. When do you ever see snipers working close quarter situations? The fact is that the sniper is made to be more realistic so that you DON'T have a million people sniping on shipment...you get my drift?

these guys are supposed to be professional soldiers, their breathing should be alot more controlled than that. When you take your finger off the hold breath button, the guys starts hyperventilating after holding his breath for 2 god damn seconds.

But then on overgrown, bits of pipeline, ambush, crossfire, etc all have good sniping in them. Occasionally a person will come close and you still can't hit them, and sometimes you do hit but they live, but that's another story.Originally posted by araB_BoiiQuestion to you guys. Problem I have with the sniper rifles is the maps themselves. They are all too short and many other weapons are just as effective at range on all those maps. They can also fire a lot of rounds downrange in the time it takes you to get one or two shots off. Couple that with having to wait on breathing means you're a dead sniper.

yeah i couldn't agree more with this statement. The maps make snipers basically obsolete. I can hit someone just as far away with my m14 or my m16 and kill them way quicker without having to count my breathing, and then worrying about the hit box being a piece of ****, and everything. Which is why i take out snipers easily whenever i see them.Originally posted by EclipsedTerror View PostProblem I have with the sniper rifles is the maps themselves. Add to that the fact that there are no roof tops in any of the maps to snipe from. And don't tell me pipeline because that's hardly a good sniping roof.

^^ Perfectly describes it.
I would have no problem with holding my breath if the maps were bigger and I wasn't under a disadvantage by doing so.
If the maps were bigger the current rifles would be O.K. (I guess), but if they stay the same size, the rifles need to be tweaked.
I'd rather have the rifles tweaked than the have the other guns nerfed.

-Blackout ( or strike w/e its called)
-Crash
-Ambush
-Bloc
All these maps, actually almost every map (besides shipment and strike) I snipe on, Sniping isn't hard guys. So stop making it, take a couple hours or even dedicate your CoD night to Sniping. You'll get it. All I use is the .50 Cal, just rapes everyone. I'm either #1 or #2, it's that easy.
Maybe you should stop crying about them, and learn to use them. Every sniper topic in here, you B**** about them. When they are just FINE. TAKES PRACTICE! This isn't BF2 guys, this is COD4.Originally posted by [MBMG] Aerialz View Post^^ Perfectly describes it.

I am not in the service but I am very familiar with all kinds of weapons including shooting them and in theory "controlled breathing" is not just holding breath but also "slowly" exhaling to prevent losing your next target and also to lower your heartbeat rate so to prevent stress and irrational shot decision. I understand that in a hostile environment your heartbeat would interfere but the "gasping" for breath effect is bullocks. We're not sending the Coast Guard, we're sending the Special Air Service Regiment and the Unites States Marines, these aren't Walmart employees for christ sake, their trained soldiers. And anyone who makes it into Sniper training (See link) has enough experience to know THEY CAN"T SELF SUFFOCATE. :shakehead

Exactly, even in basic training i was tought how to control my breathing for firing my assault rifle. The guys in COD4 act like theyre suffocating when they hold their breath for 2 seconds, a little child can do better than that. And when you shoot or exhale your breath, your guy starts having a seizure and hyperventilates like a mofo so your crosshair goes haywire.Originally posted by A4D_Mofoka View PostQuoted for truth!

I have no problem anymore with hitting people moving or stationary, as i got good at it last night, my problem is the breathing and how stupid this game makes it.
