This has started to happen to me a few times now, whenever i am a sniper and i put a claymore down, when i put a second claymore down, the first one disappears, and i am given another claymore, so i can only put one claymore down or my second claymore will make the first one disappear.
I've never noticed that with the clays. But when I have been Engi, If I put down 5 mines and go to a supply crate to restock, the moment I start laying more mines, then the original 5 start to disappear.
well you can only have 2 clay laid out and 5 at mines laid out at a time. same with C4. other wise someone could lay out about 30 claymores and just keep restocking.
I had that happen recently. Killed a sniper, tried to empty out his kit... after I dropped the second the first dissapeared, but the third didn't destroy the second. Then I think I died. Oh well.

I was on a server a few weeks ago that would only allow you to lay 1 clay, when i tried to lay the 2nd one the 1st one disappeared and until 1 of the clays went off i always had a clay in reserve. Might be something written into the script of the server?????
Normally though you can only have 2 clays and 5 mines, 5 c4 out at the same time. Although if you lay 2 clays and then pick up another sniper kit you can lay their 2 clays aswell and potentially get 4 kills:)
No, its NOT the server, a supply crate or an ammo bag that he's talking about. Its just a glitch in the game. Sometimes the first one you lay down simply doesn't "count" (register as laid down). This happens with C4s, AT mines and also clays.
The game acts as if you didn't lay the first one down, even though the graphics show that you did. Very similar to when you click to zoom-in with the sniper scope and you're quickly zoomed 'back out' even though you didn't hit the button again. It just doesn't register in-game.
Next time it happens, look at your total (mines, clays, C4s) in your pack. The one you thought that you laid down, doesn't get subtracted.
ok, so i guess next timee it happens i'll just lay it down again/until it registers.
Wasn't a glitch, i played the round throughout and the same thing happened. I will try and look out the I.P. addy for the server. The clay was laid, turned around to lay the 2nd and the first one disappeared. I think this was wrote in to stop clay spamming on that server. I didn't think it possible myself but IT DID happen. Was on a U.K. will check my favourites and get back to you all.
The server rules were very strict and mentioned something about not using unlocks, there was no unlocks to choose from, now i have 142,000 points do obviously have been playing for a while and have all the unlocks but when i joined there wasnt the option but to have stock weapons. This happens from time to time when joining a server so i logged out and back in and had the same problem.
So no clay spamming allowed and no unlocks and neither had the option to do either.....does anyone know if clans can write this into their server script or what?? Our server we havent the option so it must be 3rd party if it is??

If it's an unranked server they can do whatever mods they want. If it's ranked they are much more limited; pretty sure a ranked server is required to allow unlocks (no prohibiting weapons either by mods or by rules). Note that it is possible for a server to show as ranked in the browser when it actually is not connected to the EA stat system (although I believe that is also officially prohibited by EA).
